Time To Plan Your Talent In Logistics Itinerary
Talent in Logistics 2019 is going to be jam-packed with valuable information, exciting debates and networking opportunities and we want you to get as much as possible out of the day. So, with just four weeks to go, now is the time to plan your itinerary.
8.30am – Arrive at the Talent in Logistics Conference for coffee and networking
Head to the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes for 8.30am to register, before grabbing a cup of coffee to start the day. This is the perfect time to network with peers, customers, and suppliers in the Talent in Logistics Info Zone, where exhibitors will include Cranfield School of Management, Indeed and MA-system – the biggest supplier of training material for operators in Scandinavia.
These will be underway when you arrive and will give you a chance to watch operators and drivers competing in live action challenges. The competitions will be running during the day, so you can pop back between conference sessions to cheer on the talented finalists.
09:30 – Talent in Logistics Conference
Held at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, the Talent in Logistics conference kicks off at 9.30am, with a variety of relevant and thought-provoking topics and debates in three dedicated theatres; Attract, Develop and Engage.
With a stellar line-up of speakers you’ll want to fit in as much as possible. To ensure you get the most out of the conference, make sure you check out the full agenda to plan your day.
Speakers include none other than Steve Backley, OBE, the only British athlete to win medals at three consecutive Olympic Games. With a background in sports psychology, Steve will talk at 10.30am in the Develop theatre about mental preparation and identify the three main attributes which lead to success.
Steve believes that winning is more than just natural talent and his talk is sure to inspire you to unlock your own potential.
In the Engage theatre at 9.30am, Gwen Powell, international manager for Investors in People (IIP) will be taking a seminar on defining culture in order to retain talent. Gwen believes that workforce engagement is key to every organisations’ success. Join the discussion and discover the benefits of building and maintaining a culture that provides a positive workplace environment.
12:40-1:40 – Lunch
Over a coffee and delicious lunch there are further opportunities to network with new and existing contacts Share and discuss new ideas and what you have learnt with some of your peers, customers and suppliers. There are also refreshment breaks in the morning at 11:20am and at the end of the day.
1:40 – Afternoon Conference Sessions
After you’ve had a break, head to your choice of sessions at 1:40pm, where inspirational and informative speakers continue. Subjects include diversity and inclusion, being an authentic leader and mental health in the workplace.
If you’re eager to understand the impact of corporate wellness on performance, be sure to head to the engage theatre, where Dr Dorian Dugmore will discuss the importance of wellness and wellbeing. Dr Dugmore has been working in cardiovascular medicine and wellness for 30 years. He has written extensively on health, exercise and heart disease and is one of the most sought-after speakers on the subject of wellness.
4:00pm – Talent in Logistics Conference ends
6.30pm– Arrive at the Talent in Logistics Awards evening
After you’ve changed into your glad rags, head over to the Hilton Double Tree, Milton Keynes, for the black-tie Talent in Logistics Awards ceremony. It kicks off with a drinks reception at 6.30pm – another valuable networking opportunity with colleagues, peers and new contacts. When you arrive, make sure you get your photo taken by our photographer as a memento.
7:00pm – Take your seat for dinner, awards and entertainment
Enjoy discussing your day at the conference over a gourmet three course dinner, followed by the main event – the awards ceremony, hosted by comedian Rod Woodward. The Talent in Logistics Awards provides a unique opportunity to recognise and reward the people that are essential to the success of the logistics and transport sector. This year features a number of new categories such as Innovation in Recruitment, Rising Star and Best Place to Work.
Later the after-party entertainment will be provided by a live DJ. The event concludes at 1am so you’ve plenty of time to meet new contacts, network and have fun!
28th June – Head back to the office
